Medical Day Camps

In 2010, Crescent Lake Bible Camp partnered with Crossroads Medical Outreach to create Day Camp opportunities for children with life-threatening medical conditions.  We are in the process of assisting them with raising funds and, when they are ready, we will supply them with camp ideas and resources to make this program a reality.  We believe strongly in this ministry and are excited to be a part of this ministry.  (The information below is taken from the Crossroads Medical Outreach website.)

Have you thought that your child could not go to camp because of their special medical needs?  Are you worried about your child being away at an overnight camp?  Then what if the camp came to you?  Crossroads Medical Outreach offers Day Camp programs that bring all of the fun of camp to a city near you!

Our Day Camp programs, led by trained camp staff and with medical experts present, offer children a chance to experience all that camp has to offer without having to leave home!  Our program brings a wide-range of activities with it, including:  archery, arts and crafts, campfires, compass courses, drama, group games, skits and songs and much more!  Combine that with a time of fun and fellowship with other campers who "all have the same scars" and you will have a summer event to remember!   Our Day Camp programs also offers a chance for parents to network with other parents, a chance to speak to medical experts and to meet with counselors for support and assistance.  Parents can spend their time learning while their children play or - because it's camp! - are welcome to play in the activities with their children!
