Maria Rudesill - CLBC

MARIA RUDESILL - Executive Director

I grew up in southern Michigan and found Christian Camping shortly after graduating college. I can think of no better ministry than helping youth and families build a closer relationship with Christ using the various activities that camping provides. Since 2008, I have been blessed to be part of the new programs at CLBC and look forward to the amazing future God has for this ministry. When not involved in camping programs, I love to read, hike, travel and hang out with my family.

Angie Payfer - CLBC

ANGIE PAYFER - Office Manager

My family and I came to serve at Crescent Lake Bible Camp December 1, 2001 and we have been incredibly blessed to be a part of this incredible ministry ever since. After serving alongside my husband in many areas of camp for many years, I was offered a part-time position in the camp office taking care of the accounting duties in September of 2014. In the spring of 2017, I was blessed with the full-time position of Office Manager. I am very thankful for the opportunity to serve every person that comes to Crescent Lake Bible Camp and be a part of the staff at CLBC. Most importantly, I am so incredibly grateful to my Savior for allowing me to be a part of building His kingdom for His glory!

Jeremy Payfer - CLBC

JEREMY PAYFER - Maintenance Director

I grew up in River Falls, Wisconsin. During my high school years I worked at a camp during the summer as the Maintenance Director. While working at that camp I met my wife, Angie. During my service at that camp I knew that someday I would want to work in the camping ministry full-time. Angie shared this dream with me. We were living in Duluth, Minnesota when our pastor brought us an application to work at Crescent Lake Bible Camp. We were so excited to have the opportunity to serve at a camp. We started here in December 2001 where I serve as the Maintenance Director. We have three daughters who also serve here with us. They help in the kitchen, with housekeeping, and wherever else they are needed. We are incredibly Blessed to be able to call Crescent Lake Bible Camp our place of employment and our home.

Jeremy says, "Thank you Jesus for working so powerfully in the camping ministry and for letting us be a part of this journey!"

Dale and Desi Haskins - CLBC

DALE AND DESI HASKINS - Program Maintenance and Waterskiing Ministry

We are honored to be able to serve our Lord by serving others at camp.

We first came to CLBC in 2003 as volunteers teaching water-skiing for three summers.

February of 2006 we became full time missionary staff, teaching water-skiing during the summers and Dale doing Program Maintenance and New Construction the rest of the year, with Desi helping when needed.

We are extremely blessed to be able to use the talents and abilities God has given us to serve our campers and we enjoy being a part of a Christ-centered team here at CLBC. We cannot think of anything we would rather do.

JD and Abigail Davidson - CLBC

JD AND ABIGAIL DAVIDSON - Technology Coordinator

I first came to Crescent Lake Bible Camp during a youth retreat in January of 2008 as the sound tech for Kneel, a worship band from the Eau Claire, Wisconsin area. I spent three years with them playing for CLBC’s summer youth camps, and we really enjoyed getting to know the staff and campers. I began to really appreciate the work God was doing at camp during that time. The changes that could happen in the campers’ lives during just a single week of youth camp were remarkable.

In 2011 I joined summer staff and stayed on as year-round staff as 2012 began, taking on a number of technological projects around camp while also serving as the technical expert behind The Trek’s new online video curriculum.

Abbey “joined” camp staff when we were married in 2013 and has served as the Coordinator for the Canteen and Bookstore’s operation during the summer season. She keeps busy during the rest of the year as a stay-at-home mom to August, the latest addition to our family. Both of us also enjoy volunteering on our church’s worship team when time allows.

Jonathan Kowatch - CLBC

JONATHAN KOWATCH - Program Assistant

My name is Jonathan Kowatch. I grew up in Wausau, WI. As I grew up, I went to summer Bible camps and as I went, my life was blessed by God through the staff and other campers. Since high school, I have felt God calling me to camp ministry, and in the Fall of 2021, God opened that door for me to come work at Crescent Lake Bible Camp as a Program Assistant. I enjoy learning and teaching others about God. In my down time, I enjoy tabletop games, biking, and walking outdoors.

Luke Lilley - CLBC

LUKE LILLEY

Hello, my name is Luke Lilley and I am the Food Service Director here at CLBC. I grew up in Pennsylvania at a camp called Wayumi which specializes in engaging youth with the need for tribal missions. After graduating high school, I attended Ethnos360 Bible Institute (EBI) in Waukesha, WI for 2 years and earned my associates in Biblical Studies. After graduating, I interned in the EBI kitchen and really developed a passion for serving others through food! I then continued working full-time in the kitchen developing various skills and was placed in a number of different positions. Over the 8 years of working at the Bible School, I married my wife Taylor, and we now have two girls, Maisie and Ferne. Spring of 2023, we felt God was moving us elsewhere in ministry and when I found out CLBC had a position available for Food Service Director, I had to apply! I feel blessed to be able to serve on staff at Crescent Lake Bible Camp!

Hannah Schoeppler - CLBC

HANNAH SCHOEPPLER

I am Hannah Burkhart (now Schoeppler). I was born and raised in west Michigan. I accepted the Lord at a young age and have seen him continually work through my life and in the life of my family. I am blessed to be from a family where faith is an integral part of the family dynamic, even multiple generations back.

Though I never attended a summer camp as a child, I was regularly found in the creek behind my house and known for coming home with baby squirrels and bunnies, turtles, snakes, and frogs. As I grew older, my passion for the outdoors grew as well. Eventually, this passion led me to attending college at Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky where I majored in Equine Studies and Outdoor Adventure Leadership. These majors allowed me to explore and gain a fundamental understanding of various outdoor activities such as rock climbing, whitewater rafting, backpacking, caving, and canoeing. I also learned many outdoor leadership skills and how to safely manage groups in the wilderness. I have been all over the world backpacking, rock climbing, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, and canoeing. My biggest outdoor passion has always been tied between backpacking and riding horses. I find it very relaxing and peaceful to wander through the woods surviving on what I carry on my back as well as riding along on her horse listening to the hooves on the trail. Along my journey, I had a wise man once tell me that there is a good chance that my calling will be found where my passion and my hurt for this world cross. For me, my passion is horses and the outdoors. For me, my heart hurts for our youth. I love working as the Outdoor Education Director for Crescent Lake Bible Camp as I have the chance to share my knowledge of the world around us with young minds while also sharing the story of Christ. In my free time, you will find me riding horses, hiking, rock climbing, or canoeing.
